Description

  • Build and execute a territory plan that drives consultant engagement and generates net-new, consultant-referred opportunities.
  • Develop senior relationships across priority consulting and brokerage firms and regional offices to increase Sword’s preference in the market.
  • Map and expand office-level coverage by cultivating practice leaders, subject matter experts, producers, and regional influencers.
  • Deliver consultant-ready messaging through meetings, demos, lunch-and-learns, email campaigns, and other touchpoints.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to support active pursuits, align consultant strategies, and maintain consistent messaging across the buyer journey.
  • Strengthen Sword’s presence in consultant vendor programs and facilitate executive meetings on market trends and growth opportunities.
  • Plan and execute targeted events and strategic touchpoints such as office visits, executive sessions, and regional gatherings.
  • Track relationship activity, influence, and outcomes in Salesforce or a similar CRM, maintaining forecasting accuracy and data hygiene.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience working with major benefits consulting and/or brokerage firms such as WTW, Aon, Mercer, Lockton, Gallagher, USI, HUB, or MMA.
  • Understanding of how consultants influence employer decisions.
  • Proven ability to build relationships that drive pipeline creation, referrals, and evaluation inclusion.
  • Strong business development skills, including prospecting, multi-threading relationships, and expanding presence across offices and stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for leading meetings with senior stakeholders and positioning complex solutions clearly.
  • Comfort operating in a metrics-driven, revenue-accountable role with territory planning, pipeline tracking, and forecast hygiene responsibilities.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM to manage contacts, opportunities, reporting, and data quality.
  • Self-starter mindset with high ownership, intellectual curiosity, and comfort in a fast-moving environment.
  • Legal right to work in the United States; sponsorship is not provided.
  • Ability to work remotely as part of a remote-first environment.
