Description

  • Perform system analysis, assess risk, estimate effort, and develop technical design and implementation strategies.
  • Write code and unit tests for Natera’s custom Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and related software components.
  • Conduct code reviews and collaborate with developers, quality engineers, and product managers throughout the SDLC.
  • Debug defects, perform root cause analysis, and provide production support for product issues.
  • Partner with product owners and users to define requirements and translate them into reliable, extensible features.
  • Create and maintain software specifications and other technical documentation based on requirements.
  • Complete required HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training within the first 30 days and maintain ongoing compliance.
  • Work effectively across multiple time zones and coordinate with cross-functional team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in both server-side and front-end development for complex n-tier systems.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Recent hands-on experience with Java, preferably with Spring or similar open-source frameworks.
  • Mid-level front-end experience with React is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience developing and working with REST APIs.
  • Extensive knowledge of relational databases, including SQL and frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and command-line shell scripting.
  • Solid understanding of core software engineering principles such as OOP and SOLID.
  • Experience with containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with distributed version control systems such as GitLab and branching strategies.
  • Experience with message brokers or queues such as Apache Kafka or AWS SQS is a plus.
  • Experience with JSP and JavaScript is preferred.
  • Familiarity with software lifecycle management tools such as Jira.
  • Experience developing software in a regulated environment is a plus.
  • Experience with AI tools is a strong plus.
