Description

  • Define and drive the technical architecture for QualityOS, including system design, scalability patterns, integration strategies, and build-versus-platform tradeoffs.
  • Architect and implement complex distributed systems, including mission-critical services, APIs, and internal tooling for manufacturing quality workflows.
  • Establish engineering standards through hands-on execution, including comprehensive testing, deployment safety, infrastructure as code, observability, and operational rigor.
  • Collaborate with Platform/Foundations to shape shared infrastructure and drive adoption of platform capabilities that meet QualityOS needs.
  • Partner with other MES product teams to integrate QualityOS into broader manufacturing experiences and align cross-domain data models.
  • Represent the quality domain in architecture, security, operations, and infrastructure decisions that affect multiple teams.
  • Lead architecture reviews, code quality practices, and shared ownership models to raise the technical bar for the team.
  • Identify systemic technical issues, remove friction, eliminate single points of failure, and improve automation and tooling.
  • Drive consensus across engineering teams on cross-cutting technical decisions and long-term technical strategy.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering building products in fast-paced environments.
  • Proven ability to influence technical direction across teams and lead technical initiatives beyond a single team.
  • Experience with large enterprise applications and platforms with high availability requirements.
  • Strong full-stack experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and modern web frameworks such as Next.js or Remix.
  • User-focused engineering mindset with the ability to translate user needs into technical solutions while balancing UX and engineering constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, translate ambiguous requirements, and build cross-team alignment.
  • U.S. Person status is required because the role must access export-controlled data.
  • Familiarity with AWS, TypeScript, and React/Remix is particularly helpful.
  • Experience in hyper-growth, startup-like environments with scaling and process-maturation experience is preferred.
  • Manufacturing or quality domain knowledge, including QMS, MES, or incident management platforms, is preferred.
  • Experience in defense, autonomy, robotics, or other mission-critical systems is helpful but not required.
  • Experience with AI/LLM integration and agentic tooling in production software development is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
