Description

  • Design and implement Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
  • Work with partners to deliver an optimized Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
  • Contribute to technical plans, testing strategy, and quality metrics for partner platforms.
  • Serve as technical lead on complex customer engagements spanning cloud to edge system architectures.
  • Help customers integrate applications, SDKs, and device OS images using Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server.
  • Optimize applications and support advanced operating system and application technologies in enterprise environments.
  • Collaborate with specialist engineers from major silicon companies to integrate new features and performance enhancements.
  • Support customers across PC and IoT technologies in a fast-paced problem-solving environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
  • Experience with Linux packaging, including Debian, RPM, or Yocto.
  • Experience working with open source communities and licenses.
  • Experience working with C and C++.
  • Ability to work in a globally distributed team with self-discipline and self-motivation.
  • Strong interest in technology and collaborating with highly skilled people.
  • Experience with graphics stacks (preferred).
  • Good understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and HTTP/REST (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of security best practices in IoT or server environments (preferred).
  • Good communication skills, ideally including public speaking experience (preferred).
  • IoT/embedded experience across board and SoC, BMCs, bootloaders, firmware, OS, apps, and services (preferred).
  • Some experience with Docker, OCI containers, or Kubernetes (preferred).
