Description

  • Participate in all stages of the software development life cycle, from design and development through deployment and maintenance.
  • Own end-to-end projects across infrastructure, application tiers, and data tiers.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to define requirements, implement solutions, and ensure post-deployment success.
  • Translate requirements, estimate effort, and identify or escalate blockers as needed.
  • Contribute data-driven insights to the product and technical roadmap, including trade-off analysis between technical options and business goals.
  • Write clean, maintainable, secure, testable, and well-documented code using best practices.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
  • Work with a global team of engineers and product managers to build a stable, high-performance platform.
  • Implement comprehensive testing and performance tuning to improve system stability and uptime.
  • Continuously monitor performance metrics and recommend improvements or refactors.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including building and maintaining big data pipelines.
  • 3+ years of experience working in agile environments, ideally Scrum, with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Spark.
  • Experience with strongly typed languages, preferably Java or Scala.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrating with external services.
  • Experience participating in code reviews and maintaining code quality.
  • Ability to write and maintain unit and integration tests based on acceptance criteria.
  • Proficiency with Git for collaborative development and code management.
  • Experience with functional programming languages, preferably Scala, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of scalable, high-performance backend systems optimized for low latency and high throughput is preferred.
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data and formats such as flat files, XML, JSON, relational, and parquet is preferred.
  • Experience in cybersecurity is preferred.
