Description

  • Own the architecture of new product platforms and support the extension of existing platforms.
  • Implement scalable architecture and contribute to robust team projects.
  • Write modular, extensible, high-quality code.
  • Advocate for best practices in system design, coding, performance, and testing.
  • Develop highly concurrent and distributed systems.
  • Define architecture models and roadmaps for application and software components.
  • Work with Product, Design, Sales, and Engineering Leadership to turn business requirements into actionable plans.
  • Mentor junior engineers on design, coding, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead process improvements that increase team velocity and accelerate product development.
  • Help build a strong product-minded engineering culture across the team.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience working on distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience in architecture, design, and development of enterprise applications, integrations, and data infrastructure.
  • Experience designing, developing, debugging, and operating resilient distributed systems.
  • Experience managing large, complex systems in the cloud.
  • Proven track record of delivering efficient, scalable, reliable, and maintainable customer-facing systems on time.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in one or more server-side languages such as Java, Python, Go, Scala, or Rust.
  • Experience designing and integrating with RESTful APIs.
  • Experience designing and scaling relational and NoSQL database platforms such as MySQL, Postgres, Cassandra, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticache.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS or GCP.
  • Experience building high-volume, high-performance, highly available SaaS or consumer-facing products.
  • Startup experience strongly preferred.
  • Bonus: Experience owning services end-to-end and delivering them independently.
  • Bonus: Experience collaborating across the organization in multiple locations.
  • Bonus: Experience leading technical architecture for maintainable and scalable applications and data systems.
