Description

  • Implement features, fix bugs, and resolve production incidents across iOS and Android, extending work into the backend and web frontend when needed.
  • Own mobile initiatives end-to-end from requirements analysis and design through implementation, testing, release, and production support.
  • Diagnose complex mobile issues across the app, native layers, networking, and platform behavior, and prevent recurrence.
  • Review code and designs for correctness across component structure, navigation, rendering, and native integration.
  • Contribute to and evolve mobile engineering standards, including architecture, testing, native integration, and release policy.
  • Monitor release health, staged rollouts, crash reporting, and post-release issues on both platforms.
  • Collaborate across the full product stack to deliver tested, production-ready features.
  • Mentor and support less experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years with React Native.
  • Proficiency in React Native and TypeScript.
  • Strong JavaScript fundamentals, including asynchronous programming, event loop behavior, and error handling.
  • Working knowledge of relational and document databases, including data modeling, querying, and indexing.
  • Understanding of RESTful API design and HTTP fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with native iOS and Android tooling, including Xcode, Android Studio, and Gradle.
  • Understanding of mobile OS fundamentals, including app lifecycle, background execution, permissions, and memory constraints.
  • Experience with automated testing practices, including unit, integration, and E2E testing.
  • Understanding of mobile security, including secure storage and handling of sensitive and payment data.
  • Confident daily use of AI-assisted development tools for research, troubleshooting, and implementation.
  • Ability to independently diagnose common React Native production issues.
  • Track record of owning mobile initiatives end-to-end, including store release and related backend/web changes.
  • Experience designing mobile application architecture with performance, reliability, and observability trade-offs.
  • Experience designing or integrating native modules and SDKs, including Swift/Kotlin changes.
  • Experience owning the release process, including app signing, store submission, and staged rollouts.
  • Experience establishing mobile engineering practices such as standards, CI/CD, and release processes.
  • Experience designing resilient asynchronous and event-driven backend interactions.
  • Experience with mobile production operations, including monitoring, incident response, and rollback policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
  • English proficiency sufficient for daily written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with React Native's New Architecture (preferred).
  • Native development depth in Swift and/or Kotlin beyond React Native (preferred).
  • Experience with in-person or mobile payments and fintech products (preferred).
  • Experience with Stripe Terminal, Tap to Pay, or NFC (preferred).
  • Experience in a distributed, remote-first engineering organization (preferred).
