Description

Implement features, fix bugs, and resolve production incidents across iOS and Android, with supporting backend and web frontend changes as needed.
Own mobile initiatives end to end, from requirements gathering and solution design through implementation, testing, and production release.
Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex mobile issues and diagnose root causes across app, native, networking, and platform layers.
Review code and designs for correctness and alignment with mobile architecture and patterns before release.
Contribute to and improve mobile engineering standards, including component architecture, native integration, testing, and release policy.
Monitor release health, staged rollouts, and post-release issues on both platforms.
Support the full development lifecycle, including store release and production support.
Collaborate across the stack to deliver mobile features that depend on backend and web changes.
Mentor and support less experienced engineers as part of the team.

Requirements

8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years with React Native.
Proficiency in React Native and TypeScript.
Strong JavaScript fundamentals, including asynchronous programming, event loop behavior, and error handling.
Working knowledge of relational and document databases, including data modeling, querying, and indexing.
Understanding of RESTful API design and HTTP fundamentals.
Familiarity with native iOS and Android tooling, including Xcode, Android Studio, and Gradle.
Understanding of mobile OS fundamentals, including app lifecycle, background execution, permissions, and memory constraints.
Experience with automated testing practices, including unit, integration, and E2E testing.
Understanding of mobile security for secure storage and handling of sensitive and payment data.
Confident use of AI-assisted development tools for research, troubleshooting, and implementation.
Ability to independently diagnose common React Native production issues such as rendering, navigation, networking, and lifecycle problems.
Track record of owning mobile initiatives from requirements through store release, including related backend and web frontend changes.
Experience designing mobile application architecture with performance, reliability, and observability trade-offs across iOS and Android.
Experience designing or integrating native modules and SDKs, including Swift/Kotlin changes and debugging across JavaScript and native layers.
Experience owning the release process, including app signing, store submission, and staged rollouts.
Experience establishing mobile engineering practices such as standards, CI/CD, and release processes across inherited and greenfield codebases.
Experience designing resilient asynchronous and event-driven backend interactions, such as messaging and queues.
Experience with mobile production operations, including monitoring, crash reporting, incident response, and rollback policy.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
English proficiency sufficient for daily written and verbal communication.
Fluent in Russian and English at B2 level.
Experience with React Native's New Architecture, including JSI, Fabric, TurboModules, and Codegen, is preferred.
Native development depth in Swift and/or Kotlin beyond React Native is preferred.
Experience with in-person or mobile payments, fintech products, Stripe Terminal, Tap to Pay, or NFC is preferred.
Experience in a distributed, remote-first engineering organization is preferred.
Broader backend and database experience is preferred.
Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging patterns is preferred.
Experience operating high-traffic, low-latency systems is preferred.
Experience with offline-first architectures and data synchronization over unreliable networks is preferred.
