Description

  • Implement backend systems that support core business features.
  • Design, develop, test, and scale services and integrations for product experiences.
  • Build and maintain backend services for payments, billing, identity, and partner integrations.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to solve user problems around rent payment.
  • Lead scoping, design, and implementation for APIs you build.
  • Drive production rollouts to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Deliver changes in an agile manner with small, frequent iterations.
  • Build robust systems that can handle multiple external dependencies.
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines.
  • Help improve team standards and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with Java.
  • Experience building robust, fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Proficiency with Java frameworks and tools including Spring (core/web/boot), Gradle, JUnit, and JVM tuning for memory, performance, and garbage collection.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture, REST APIs, message queues, and scalable architectures.
  • Experience with AWS services including EKS, Aurora RDS, ElastiCache, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with containerization tools.
  • Ability to work on a globally distributed team with a high degree of ownership.
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align on scope and delivery.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Preferred experience with CI/CD systems, especially GitHub Actions, plus git and automation.
  • Preferred experience with observability and monitoring tools such as DataDog.
  • Preferred experience with big data platforms and tooling, including Snowflake.
  • Preferred experience with infrastructure as code tools such as CDK and Terraform.
  • Preferred experience mentoring junior engineers and raising team standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional collaboration experience.

Benefits

  • Tiered base salary of $172,000-$215,000 for Tier 1 locations, $154,800-$193,500 for Tier 2, and $146,200-$182,750 for Tier 3.
