Description

Implement backend systems that support core business features.
Design, develop, test, and scale services and integrations for product experiences.
Build and maintain backend services for payments, billing, identity, and partner integrations.
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to solve user problems around rent payment.
Lead scoping, design, and implementation for APIs you build.
Drive production rollouts to completion with minimal oversight.
Deliver changes in an agile manner with small, frequent iterations.
Build robust systems that can handle multiple external dependencies.
Design, build, and maintain data pipelines.
Help improve team standards and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering.
Minimum of 4 years of experience with Java.
Experience building robust, fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies.
Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines.
Proficiency with Java frameworks and tools including Spring (core/web/boot), Gradle, JUnit, and JVM tuning for memory, performance, and garbage collection.
Experience with service-oriented architecture, REST APIs, message queues, and scalable architectures.
Experience with AWS services including EKS, Aurora RDS, ElastiCache, and DynamoDB.
Experience with containerization tools.
Ability to work on a globally distributed team with a high degree of ownership.
Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align on scope and delivery.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred experience with CI/CD systems, especially GitHub Actions, plus git and automation.
Preferred experience with observability and monitoring tools such as DataDog.
Preferred experience with big data platforms and tooling, including Snowflake.
Preferred experience with infrastructure as code tools such as CDK and Terraform.
Preferred experience mentoring junior engineers and raising team standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional collaboration experience.

Benefits

Tiered base salary of $172,000-$215,000 for Tier 1 locations, $154,800-$193,500 for Tier 2, and $146,200-$182,750 for Tier 3.
