Description

  • Build backend features for user-facing applications to enhance the user experience.
  • Collaborate with design, product, and backend teams to develop end-to-end functionality.
  • Propose new product ideas and features from a user perspective.
  • Implement automated testing to ensure high technical quality of developed features.
  • Design, develop, and manage large-scale distributed systems and networks.
  • Address new requirements by working with Engineering customers.
  • Improve the developer process and experience across coding through operations.
  • Lead or contribute to product development from ideation through implementation and release.
  • Work remotely or via telecommuting, as permitted.

Requirements

  • Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related position.
  • At least 3 years of experience in distributed systems design and development, including architecture, implementation, and operation of large-scale reliable backend systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience with cloud computing, including AWS.
  • At least 3 years of experience with batch processing and workflow orchestration such as Spark or Airflow.
  • At least 3 years of experience with data modeling and database management such as MySQL, Postgres, Elasticsearch, or NoSQL databases.
  • At least 3 years of experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Node.js.
  • At least 3 years of experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices such as Kubernetes or Docker.
  • At least 3 years of experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Grafana or Logsearch.
  • At least 3 years of experience with message queues and event streaming such as Kafka, Kinesis, or SQS.
  • At least 3 years of experience with in-memory caching and datastores such as Memcached or Redis.
  • At least 1 year of experience in big data processing such as Kafka Streams, Flink, or Spark.
  • Telecommuting and remote employment are permitted.
  • No relocation assistance is available.
