Description

  • Build and maintain integrations with Epic, Cerner, and other major EHR platforms using FHIR, HL7, and vendor-specific APIs.
  • Own integration work end to end, including scoping, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in production clinical environments.
  • Work with hospital IT teams and EHR vendors to support new rollouts and certification requirements.
  • Contribute to broader platform features, including clinical AI tooling, decision support, and EHR-embedded workflows.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and clinical stakeholders to translate workflow requirements into reliable code.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions, RFCs, and sprint planning.
  • Write unit and integration tests with a focus on reliability and data quality.
  • Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and edge cases in integration data flows.
  • Document integration patterns and help onboard other engineers to EHR tooling.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with React or Python with Django.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, data modeling, and systems handling sensitive, high-reliability data.
  • Strong written communication skills in a written-first, async-first culture.
  • Passion for improving clinicians' lives with technology.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional startup environment.
  • Experience in a high-growth startup or B2B SaaS environment (preferred).
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements in a software context (preferred).
  • Prior experience with EHR integrations such as Epic or Cerner using FHIR, HL7, or vendor-specific APIs (nice to have).
  • Experience with Epic App Orchard, Cerner SMART on FHIR, AWS, Docker, Terraform, or AI/LLM production features (nice to have).
