Description

  • Design, develop, and optimize backend systems for real-time data processing and web services.
  • Build highly performant backend infrastructure that supports large-scale fraud detection solutions.
  • Integrate backend components with other services in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Take ownership of features from concept through final deployment.
  • Investigate complex feature issues by analyzing behavior, forming hypotheses, running experiments, and translating results into engineering improvements.
  • Perform performance tuning, debugging, and testing to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation.
  • Mentor junior developers and help grow team capabilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in backend development.
  • Strong experience with Go and/or Node.js, with a willingness to learn.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems.
  • Experience building and optimizing APIs, real-time data processing systems, and microservices architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with databases such as DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
  • Proficiency with Git, IDEs, shell scripting, and CI/CD tools.
  • Proficient in English and able to communicate clearly in a global remote team.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Desire to mentor and support junior team members.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (nice to have).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation (preferred).
  • Experience with analytical storage systems such as ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks (preferred).
  • Experience with observability tools such as Datadog or similar monitoring/logging platforms (preferred).
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (preferred).
  • Experience contributing to large open-source projects and working asynchronously with a global team (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience with both Node.js and Go in a backend context (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of internet security and privacy mechanisms (preferred).
  • Ability to work from an authorized home location, as visa sponsorship is not provided.
