Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • Write production-grade Ruby code for core services and applications.
  • Develop integrations with internal, external, and third-party systems.
  • Create and maintain API documentation and development standards.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and API security practices.
  • Monitor and optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Support API versioning and backward compatibility.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and participate in Tier 1/Tier 2 on-call rotations.
  • Collaborate with technical leadership on code quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Promote AI-enabled development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience.
  • Strong experience designing, building, and supporting APIs.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
  • Experience with RSpec.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in Agile software development environments.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm preferred.
  • Familiarity with OAuth and secure software development practices preferred.
  • Experience with Git and Sidekiq or similar asynchronous processing tools preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
  • Must have lived continuously in the United States for the previous three consecutive years and pass a government suitability review and background investigation.
  • Federal government experience and exposure to Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures preferred.
