Description

  • Partner with the sales team to present Datadog’s value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase and drive issues or concerns to resolution.
  • Technically close complex opportunities using competitive knowledge, technical credibility, and product expertise.
  • Deliver product and technical briefings and presentations to potential clients.
  • Maintain accurate customer notes and feedback in the CRM, including wins and losses.
  • Communicate proactively with customers and Datadog business and technical teams about product feedback and the competitive landscape.
  • Support technical evaluations and proof-of-value activities with customers and partners.
  • Provide input to the product team to help prioritize features based on customer, competitor, and partner feedback.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role.
  • Experience with programming or scripting in Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, PHP, .NET, or similar languages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain both business benefits and technical advantages of the product.
  • Ability to build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer.
  • Willingness to travel up to 45% of the time by auto, train, or air.
  • Ability to sit for up to 4 hours while traveling to and from client sites.
  • Passion for educating customers on observability risks and technology solutions.
  • Interest in growing skills even if not meeting every qualification on day one.
