Description

  • Design, build, and ship production-grade full-stack systems end to end, including frontend, backend, infrastructure, and operational components.
  • Own technical decisions for architecture, cloud topology, observability, deployment, and security on projects you lead.
  • Write secure, resilient, well-tested code and maintain high standards in code review.
  • Debug production incidents, performance regressions, concurrency issues, and distributed systems problems, then document learnings for the team.
  • Build prototypes and proofs of concept quickly to validate ideas and reduce technical risk.
  • Mentor teammates and help solve difficult technical problems as a technical resource for the team.
  • Research new technologies and tools and contribute to improving engineering practices and team processes.
  • Provide rough effort estimates and technical scope for new opportunities.
  • Help present technical options and recommendations to client stakeholders when needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience required; 7+ years preferred.
  • Experience in full-stack development, including REST APIs, backend systems, database modeling, CI/CD, web UX/UI, HTML/CSS, and mobile-responsive design.
  • Ability to design and develop highly reliable, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Strong command of Linux or MacOS command-line tools and Bash shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in automated testing and unit testing.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Experience with databases.
  • Experience with systems architecture and system-level trade-off analysis.
  • Experience with React and associated frontend tooling such as Webpack.
  • Experience with Node.js and TypeScript, including strong async/await fluency.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with Docker, Docker Swarm, RabbitMQ, Postgres, MongoDB, DocumentDB, OpenAPI/Swagger, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with logging and observability tools, event pipelines, caching services, concurrency, parallel processing, and CDN/performance optimization.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems management, another engineering discipline, or equivalent field experience.
  • Must have a GitHub account with an open-source repository demonstrating your skills.

  • $115,000 - $145,000 annual salary, with final compensation based on experience and geography.
