Description

  • Design, build, and evolve high-performance backend services and APIs in Kotlin and Spring Boot.
  • Own features from technical design and implementation through production monitoring and ongoing operation.
  • Develop and maintain checkout payment flows such as authorization, capture, refunds, reversals, and partial payments.
  • Architect resilient microservices using event-driven patterns to support asynchronous payment processing.
  • Strengthen integrations with PSPs, acquirers, and payment gateways across regions and payment rails.
  • Apply security, privacy, and PCI-DSS best practices to backend systems.
  • Collaborate with Product, Compliance, and Business teams on scalable technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture decisions, and technical discussions.
  • Write clean, well-tested, production-ready code with a focus on quality.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional backend development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin; Kotlin proficiency is mandatory.
  • Strong proficiency with Spring Boot.
  • Deep expertise with payment processing concepts.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architectures.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and data modeling for financial systems.
  • Experience with containerization and cloud infrastructure, including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or GCP.
  • Strong command of unit, integration, and contract testing practices.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Experience in fintech, neobank, or payment orchestration environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with PCI-DSS, PSD2, or 3DS authentication frameworks is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka or other event streaming platforms is preferred.
  • Knowledge of network tokenization, smart routing, or payment optimization strategies is preferred.
  • Experience with observability tooling such as Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or distributed tracing is preferred.
  • Prior work at a high-growth startup operating across multiple markets is preferred.
