Description

  • Lead Toptal’s Industries function in partnership with Heads of Industries, the VP of SMB, and industry general managers.
  • Align industry vertical strategy with service verticals to ensure GTM execution and delivery are coordinated.
  • Oversee and unify GTM efforts across enterprise and SMB to maintain consistency, clarity, and growth alignment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior executives at key clients to support strategic account growth and high-impact pursuits.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying cross-industry opportunities, improving sales practices, and strengthening client delivery.
  • Set sales standards and help scale high-performing GTM teams across multiple client segments.
  • Own quarterly planning for Industries, including revenue targets, headcount strategy, sales role allocation, and account segmentation.
  • Lead forecasting and performance visibility by tracking pipeline health, conversion rates, client satisfaction, and productivity.
  • Run operational reviews with GMs and GTM teams to assess deal progress, pipeline velocity, and growth strategies.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, and development for GMs, frontline managers, and GTM talent across verticals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 15+ years of enterprise B2B leadership experience, including 10+ years in executive roles with full P&L ownership across multiple verticals and sales organizations.
  • Proven success managing large, complex portfolios and driving substantial revenue growth and profitability.
  • Demonstrated experience scaling multi-industry go-to-market teams with oversight of complex commercial operations.
  • Management consulting experience at a top-tier firm such as McKinsey, Bain, or BCG, or investment banking experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience leading large, distributed sales teams in high-growth technology or professional services environments.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise sales methodology and consultative, multi-phase sales pursuits.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize execution and mentor others to do the same.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with executive presence.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Delivery, and Product.
  • Strong track record of coaching and developing sales leaders and team members at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel to meet with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
