Description

  • Research and identify target organizations in pharma, biotech, and CRO segments focused on eye care.
  • Identify key contacts in target accounts using public sources and personal networks.
  • Generate leads and conduct outreach to prospective customers, including cold calling.
  • Meet with prospects and customers in person or by phone to advance business opportunities.
  • Develop tailored pitches based on organizational analysis and customer needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Work strategically to identify new opportunities in target and adjacent markets.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Research, Marketing, Product, and Operations to implement business development initiatives.
  • Draft client contracts in coordination with internal operations and legal teams.
  • Support customer onboarding and manage accounts from project to project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in life sciences, computer science, or a related field; PhD or MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, management consulting, or another customer-facing role.
  • Proven consultative sales experience with ophthalmology pharma, biotech, medtech, and/or CROs.
  • Experience in scale-up environments is a plus.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience in digital health or health IT preferred.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across sales, marketing, and development.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-divisional, multi-geographical customers; healthcare experience in clinics or hospitals is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, executive presence, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to think strategically, negotiate, analyze sales figures, and write reports.
  • Experience with CRM software such as HubSpot.
