Description

  • Prospect through in-person and virtual meetings, email, phone, and campaigns to identify and qualify growth opportunities.
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline and engage multiple decision makers to build communication and consensus throughout the sales cycle.
  • Research customer needs and sell solutions aligned to their problems and strategic objectives.
  • Lead account teams and internal and external partners to develop winning solutions.
  • Close business by overcoming late-stage deal obstacles and delivering persuasive presentations.
  • Apply deep knowledge of the K-12 education space, including district structures, funding, purchasing, policies, and school board oversight.
  • Develop and execute account plans that prioritize opportunities based on account potential, competition, funding, policy, and customer constraints.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships to support retention, renewals, and repeat business.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and other internal partners to support territory growth.
  • Travel regularly to customer engagements, conferences, and other revenue-generating activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in educational software sales.
  • Proficiency with collaboration tools such as Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
  • Familiarity with CRMs and sales technology such as Salesforce and MS Dynamics.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and policy for the assigned territory.
  • Deep knowledge of the K-12 education space, including public, private, and parochial schools.
  • Strong understanding of K-12 district and school administrative roles, funding, purchasing habits, policies, practices, trends, and school board oversight.
  • Strong technical knowledge of common tools and trends in the ed-tech space.
  • Experience selling educational assessment and analytics products is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the educational market with a focus on assessment and instruction tools is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% for customer engagements, conferences, and revenue-generating activities.
  • Candidates are ideally located in Alabama, Mississippi, or Kentucky, with Georgia-based candidates considered if able to travel frequently to those states.

  • Base salary range of $90,400 to $115,400.
  • Total target compensation range of $144,400 to $165,000.
