Description

  • Identify and close business opportunities for Precision Biospecimen services within the assigned region.
  • Develop, expand, and manage client relationships to grow new and existing business.
  • Lead and support a Business Development team of Directors in the region.
  • Work closely with Operations, Marketing, Technical Support, Customer Support, and Finance to support client proposals and execution.
  • Qualify leads and assess client specimen needs.
  • Prepare and present inventory reports, feasibility analyses, purchase orders, and budgets to customers.
  • Close new business and expand existing account relationships.
  • Attend conferences, trade shows, and meetings as required.
  • Maintain contacts and opportunities in Salesforce.com.
  • Assist with hiring, training, marketing/conference strategy, and large account management including rate cards and discount structures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related sales experience, or Master’s degree and 2 years of related sales experience.
  • Track record of progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proven success in client relationship management and business development within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO organization.
  • Experience selling biobanking, sample preparation services, and specialty lab services.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and create plans to achieve personal goals.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically and act tactically in a dynamic environment.
  • Team player willing to collaborate and share knowledge.
  • Must be self-directed and self-motivated to work at a highly technical level.
  • Willingness to travel up to 35%, including domestic and international overnight travel.
  • Valid driver’s license and fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English.
  • Preferred: academic concentration in life sciences or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s or Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, or Biochemistry.
  • Preferred: 10 years of related sales experience.
