Description

  • Build and maintain production-quality backend game orchestration services, including dynamic resource allocation, monitoring, and security.
  • Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team to design the interface between the orchestration system, matchmaking systems, and internal developer experience.
  • Drive requirements gathering, architectural planning, implementation, and scaling for the orchestration system.
  • Write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation and email communications to align multiple teams on complex topics.
  • Participate in production incident response and an on-call rotation after launch.
  • Work with a mission-focused, cross-discipline team to help turn a creative concept into a new franchise at PlayStation.

Requirements

  • Production experience designing and building backend services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with orchestration technologies such as Agones, Kubernetes, AccelByte, or Playfab, including knowing when to use them.
  • Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in Rust.
  • Strong knowledge of Docker, Git, and Linux, including shell scripting and system configuration.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate well and contribute to a “we” culture.
  • Experience with games-as-a-service online game development (preferred).
  • Experience with multiple cloud providers and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible (preferred).
  • Experience with Unreal Engine (preferred).

  • Estimated base pay range of $160,100 to $240,100 USD for Seattle-based candidates.
