Description

  • Build and maintain Ruby on Rails applications, REST APIs, backend services, and internal tools.
  • Develop scalable backend systems and reusable application workflows using Rails conventions and ActiveRecord.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL or MySQL databases, including schemas, SQL queries, and indexing.
  • Implement caching, background processing, asynchronous workflows, and job handling with tools like Sidekiq, Resque, and Redis.
  • Design and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services, payment systems, and SaaS platforms.
  • Handle authentication, authorization, rate limiting, webhook processing, and background sync jobs.
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and system tests while supporting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Improve application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and deploy fixes with minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with product, design, frontend, and QA teams through sprint planning, standups, code reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Document technical workflows and contribute to architectural decisions and accurate delivery estimates.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Ruby, Rails, ActiveRecord, and MVC architecture.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Experience with Sidekiq or Resque.
  • Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of API development, backend architecture, and scalable web applications.
  • Experience integrating with React, Vue.js, or Stimulus is preferred.
  • Experience deploying Rails applications to AWS, GCP, or Heroku is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Redis, Memcached, background workers, and caching systems is preferred.
  • Industry experience in SaaS, fintech, healthcare, or e-commerce is preferred.
