Description

  • Design, build, and scale exchange infrastructure with a focus on latency, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Own core components end to end and make critical system design decisions.
  • Build and scale core exchange systems including order matching, trade execution algorithms, and supporting data structures.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and data feeds using REST, FIX, and WebSockets.
  • Design clearing infrastructure, position management, margining, and payment flows.
  • Improve performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks in databases and internal services.
  • Conduct rigorous testing of mission-critical systems before production release.
  • Work directly with customers such as market makers and traders on technical needs.
  • Help define new prediction market structures, contract types, and mechanics.
  • Collaborate across Underdog teams to maintain high standards for performance and availability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering experience with a track record in high-performance, low-latency systems.
  • Strong programming experience in C, Rust, C++, Go, Java, or similar languages.
  • Product-minded with strong judgment, good tradeoff decisions, and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with high agency and ambition.
  • Experience in TradeFi, prediction markets, crypto exchange infrastructure, or SOR.
  • Preferred experience building highly available, high-volume consumer-facing systems.
  • Preferred deep understanding of concurrency, threading models, and performance-sensitive system tradeoffs.
  • Preferred background in sports, fantasy sports, or gaming.

  • Base salary range of $160,000 to $240,000 plus target equity.
