Description

  • Own and achieve annual state-level revenue targets for an assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute territory plans for state opportunities.
  • Build, manage, and accurately forecast a high-quality pipeline of state deals.
  • Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting through close for multi-year state contracts.
  • Navigate state procurement processes, RFPs, and funding structures.
  • Structure statewide agreements that support district adoption.
  • Build trusted relationships with commissioners, deputy commissioners, SEA leaders, and other state decision-makers.
  • Lead executive-level presentations, negotiations, and strategic account planning.
  • Monitor legislative, funding, and policy changes to inform go-to-market strategy.
  • Collaborate with Government Affairs, Marketing, Product, District Sales, and Customer Success to align strategy and implementation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in K–12 education, edtech, or adjacent sectors.
  • Experience selling directly to State Education Agencies, Workforce agencies, or other agencies involved in K–12 purchasing.
  • Proven experience owning and exceeding multi-million-dollar revenue goals in complex public-sector sales environments.
  • Deep understanding of state procurement cycles, funding structures, and long sales timelines.
  • Track record of building executive relationships and closing high-value agreements.
  • Experience building coalitions and aligning multiple stakeholders across segments.
  • Ability to operate independently in a senior, quota-carrying role.
  • Strong strategic, consultative approach that can navigate political turnover in state government.
  • Commitment to improving student outcomes and advancing equity in education.

  • Base salary range of $127,500 to $187,500.
  • Variable compensation of $150,000.
