Description

  • Design, build, and operate scalable, fault-tolerant, low-latency trading infrastructure and microservices for 24/7 crypto market operations.
  • Build and maintain connectivity to centralized exchanges, DeFi venues, and counterparties through FIX 5.0+, WebSocket, HTTP/2, and REST APIs.
  • Develop and maintain trading lifecycle services, including strategy and execution engines, automated pricing and trading bots, order execution, position tracking, and risk and analytics systems.
  • Architect and optimize high-throughput order execution and real-time market-data pipelines across multiple venues.
  • Implement pre-trade risk controls, circuit breakers, rate limiters, position and PnL calculations, alerting, and high-availability safeguards.
  • Build robust monitoring, auto-recovery, reconciliation workflows, data-quality controls, and trusted data models with clear lineage and documentation.
  • Profile and eliminate latency bottlenecks through performance tuning, garbage-free coding, and lock-free concurrency.
  • Collaborate with liquidity managers, product managers, desk developers, risk, finance, and operations teams to deliver solutions into production.
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and security best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM discipline; finance background is a plus.
  • Typically 3–8 years of experience in software or data engineering, depending on level.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more of Java 17+, Rust, C++, or Python.
  • Strong understanding of high-performance, low-latency distributed systems and multi-threaded or concurrent programming.
  • Hands-on experience with FIX 5.0+, WebSocket, HTTP/2, and REST APIs.
  • Strong SQL experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL, including schema design and performance tuning; experience with Redis and Kafka.
  • Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments; familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud platforms such as AWS, AliCloud, or GCP.
  • Understanding of market microstructure, order lifecycle, PnL, margin, leverage, and market risk.
  • Strong analytical thinking, ownership, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; fluency in English is required, and Chinese/Mandarin is a strong plus.
  • Genuine interest in crypto markets, blockchain, and the financial industry, with a desire to keep learning new technologies.
  • Preferred experience in proprietary trading, market making, quantitative research, or front-office technology.
  • Preferred experience with execution algorithms such as TWAP, VWAP, iceberg, sniper, and smart order routing, plus backtesting or strategy-simulation frameworks.
  • Preferred familiarity with low-latency tooling and IPC such as Aeron, Chronicle Queue, Disruptor, shared-memory messaging, Agrona, Protocol Buffers, and SBE.
  • Preferred experience with Spring, Netty, Vert.x, modern data platforms, workflow orchestration, or ML tooling.
  • Preferred understanding of DeFi, blockchain, smart contracts, crypto exchange APIs, or event-contract and prediction markets.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM are a plus.
