Description

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy to meet revenue targets and expand the company’s footprint within the Department of Defense community.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage new business opportunities, contract bids, and proposal activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government, military, customer, vendor, subcontractor, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop customer requirements for future bids, quotations, equipment, and services.
  • Prepare and submit accurate price quotations, contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
  • Maintain a weekly pipeline of sales opportunities, quotes, and orders and provide accurate sales forecasts.
  • Represent the company at symposiums, conferences, trade shows, exhibitions, and military engagements to support market intelligence and brand awareness.
  • Conduct market research and gather competitive and customer intelligence to inform strategy and identify opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling, compliant proposals and support the customer sales process from outreach through order entry.
  • Prepare reports, maintain sales records, submit expense reports, and manage professional calendars and sales activity documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical field required.
  • Master’s degree highly desirable.
  • 5-10 years of experience in defense sales and business development with a successful track record of winning DOD contracts.
  • Established understanding of government sales and federal contracting.
  • Demonstrated experience with DOD procurement and contracting processes.
  • Proven ability to work with and influence senior business and government leaders.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to complete work within required deadlines and follow company procedures while meeting customer needs.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, if required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Previous military experience highly desired.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Oracle ERP, Epicor, Salesforce, Slack, Concur, and ADP systems.
