Description

  • Design, develop, and deliver new features for a large-scale web application.
  • Build backend services primarily in Scala, with opportunities to work in Java and TypeScript.
  • Build and maintain highly available, scalable, low-latency services.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and developers to deliver user-focused solutions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
  • Measure, monitor, and improve system performance and user experience.
  • Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
  • Own features from design discussions through implementation and deployment, proactively identifying improvements.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience with Scala.
  • Experience with MongoDB and GraphQL.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful services and WebSockets.
  • Willingness to work across Scala and Java ecosystems.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, system design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Ability to contribute across the full development lifecycle, from architecture design through implementation.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive ownership mindset.
  • Commercial Java experience (preferred).
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ or Kafka, REST API development, or TypeScript frontend development (preferred).
