Description

  • Contribute to and drive the company-wide technology strategy across products, markets, and transaction volumes.
  • Own the technical strategy for architecture, infrastructure, delivery, reliability, scalability, security, and compliance.
  • Guide architectural and solution design decisions and remove technical roadblocks for engineering teams.
  • Build, lead, and scale multiple engineering teams, including managers and senior individual contributors.
  • Mentor engineers and managers through career development, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Drive hiring strategy and organizational design to support engineering growth.
  • Establish and improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident management practices.
  • Improve platform reliability, operational excellence, code quality, testing, QA automation, documentation, and CI/CD maturity.
  • Reduce technical debt and improve codebase health and maintainability.
  • Define and track engineering KPIs, system health metrics, team performance, and developer productivity.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure usage and costs while maintaining performance and security.
  • Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Sales, Marketing, and Business stakeholders to align delivery with priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure systems are secure by design, with strong ownership of data privacy, fraud prevention, and regulatory readiness.
  • Build and maintain long-term technical and architectural roadmaps.
  • Contribute to broader engineering initiatives across payments, lending, savings, deposits, cards, and business management platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 12-15 years of hands-on software development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams and driving large-scale technical initiatives.
  • Strong prior experience as a Software Engineer with a track record of designing scalable systems and working in a software architecture capacity.
  • Strong backend engineering expertise with production deployment experience using Spring Boot or similar modern backend frameworks.
  • Frontend exposure is a plus.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment systems.
  • Experience managing technical debt at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead managers and multiple cross-functional teams in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Prior experience managing distributed and remote teams across multiple geographies.
  • Strong experience with agile methodologies, sprint planning, and technical resource management.
  • Proven track record of mentoring, performance management, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Ability to drive alignment across engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience introducing engineering innovations that improve productivity, delivery speed, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience in fintech or regulated technology environments is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to emerging markets or interest in financial inclusion and financial well-being is advantageous.
  • High agency and ownership, grit, clarity of thought, empathy, and a no-ego mindset.
