Description

  • Own the engineering organization end-to-end and serve as the bridge between engineering and company leadership.
  • Write code, make architectural decisions, and lead from the front as a deeply hands-on technical leader.
  • Audit and raise the bar on codebase quality, architecture, and development workflows.
  • Define and enforce standards for system design, scalability, maintainability, and technical debt prevention.
  • Optimize sprint planning, estimation, execution, and delivery consistency.
  • Introduce visibility into progress, blockers, priorities, and timeline risks.
  • Integrate Claude Code and AI-assisted workflows across the engineering organization.
  • Define where AI adds leverage in feature generation, test coverage, documentation, refactoring, and debugging.
  • Translate business goals into technical roadmaps with realistic timelines and trade-offs.
  • Hire, onboard, and develop engineers while scaling the team deliberately.

Requirements

  • 10+ years building and scaling production applications.
  • Proven record of architecting and shipping complex, real-world systems from scratch.
  • Hands-on production experience across the full stack used by the company.
  • Ability to make architectural decisions with long-term reliability in mind.
  • Experience managing and scaling engineering teams with consistent delivery outcomes.
  • Adaptability when priorities shift, including re-prioritizing without losing momentum.
  • Strategic foresight to anticipate product and infrastructure needs before they are asked for.
  • Direct, hands-on experience using Claude Code and AI-assisted tooling to ship production features.
  • Demonstrable experience using Claude Code to generate, refactor, and ship real production features.
  • Experience with the company stack: Next.js, React, Shadcn, TailwindCSS, tRPC, Cloudflare Workers, Workflows, Durable Objects, Drizzle ORM, Aurora PostgreSQL, Cloudflare Hyperdrive, Clerk, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience building fintech, trading platforms, or data-intensive products is preferred.
  • Exposure to prop trading, brokerage systems, or financial infrastructure is preferred.
  • Experience scaling teams from early-stage to mid-size is preferred.
  • Structured approaches to managing and preventing technical debt at scale are preferred.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or published technical writing are preferred.
