Description

  • Serve as MongoDB’s representative within the New York startup ecosystem by building and maintaining relationships with founders, operators, VCs, accelerators, and ecosystem partners.
  • Develop and execute a targeted strategy to engage and convert high-potential startups into the MongoDB for Startups program.
  • Design and deliver a regional event strategy that includes VC-partnered events, demo days, hackathons, founder dinners, and other community activations.
  • Partner with internal teams and startup customers to surface and develop stories that showcase startups building on MongoDB.
  • Collaborate with MongoDB Ventures, Revenue Marketing, Strategic Events, and DevRel to align cross-functional startup programming and regional initiatives.
  • Track engagement metrics such as attendance quality, funded-founder participation, and program applications, then use insights to improve strategy and programming.
  • Support planning and delivery of startup-focused initiatives, including hackathons, demo nights, founder dinners, and conference-adjacent activations.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in marketing, community, ecosystem, or events roles focused on startups, developers, or technical founders.
  • Experience leading projects or programs and collaborating across teams from strategy through execution.
  • Familiarity with the New York startup ecosystem, ideally with existing relationships across founders, VCs, accelerators, and founder communities.
  • Experience working in or closely with startups or venture capital firms, with an understanding of how early-stage companies operate and grow.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-moving environments and help build and scale programs, partnerships, and community initiatives.
  • Strong organizational and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders.
  • Data-driven approach with the ability to track engagement metrics and communicate the impact of regional initiatives.
  • Clear and confident communication with founders, investors, and senior internal stakeholders.
  • High degree of ownership and initiative while collaborating with a globally distributed team and maintaining an active presence in New York.
  • Experience in startup, developer, or technical founder marketing/community/event work is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $84,000–$165,000 USD for U.S.-based candidates.
