Description

  • Build and maintain high-performance, reliable server-side Java logic.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with backend systems.
  • Design and implement APIs and RESTful services to industry standards.
  • Set up, maintain, and optimize databases.
  • Optimize application performance to ensure scalability and security.
  • Identify and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks.
  • Write clean, scalable code following Java best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and uphold coding best practices.
  • Partner with QA, DevOps, and Product Management to deliver robust applications.
  • Maintain technical and API documentation.

Requirements

  • Dutch citizenship and fluency in Dutch are required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in Java development with strong knowledge of core Java, including OOP, concurrency, JVM internals, exception handling, Streams, Optional, and lambda expressions.
  • Solid experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data, Hibernate/JPA, and RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Proficiency with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Redis.
  • Proficiency with Maven or Gradle and version control using Git.
  • Proven backend experience with the ability to work with and quickly adapt to additional programming languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of agile methodologies/SDLC and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, OWASP, JWT, OAuth2, JUnit, Mockito, and performance monitoring/profiling tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and ReactJS is a plus.
  • Proficiency in an additional programming language such as Python, TypeScript, or Go is a plus.
