Description

  • Work directly with customers, partners, and sales leadership to advance and close deals.
  • Partner closely with the global sales organization to prioritize resources and support revenue targets.
  • Assess customer pain points and business needs, then recommend appropriate technical solutions.
  • Design and drive solutions for data and database-centric challenges across client organizations.
  • Create statements of work with support from the technical team.
  • Support preparation of presentations, web conferences, white papers, workflows, and RFP/RFI responses.
  • Manage stakeholders at multiple levels, including CIOs, CTOs, CXOs, and DBAs.
  • Support sales efforts through customer travel, solution engineering, and deal execution.
  • Travel to conferences to staff booths when needed.

Requirements

  • 8 to 10 years of hands-on senior sales engineer experience.
  • Strong database or database architecture skills, with MariaDB or MySQL strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with in-memory compute platforms such as Redis and Apache Ignite is desirable.
  • Experience working on complex customer PoC engagements.
  • Experience collaborating with customer success and field teams in customer orientation efforts.
  • Fundamental knowledge of programming languages, web stack technologies, Linux, and AI development.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong organizational ability.
  • Very strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal, is mandatory; additional regional language skills are preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, with a valid passport.
  • Ability to work 100% remotely with regional travel as required.
  • Willingness to work off-hours when required.
  • Preferred experience in pre-sales within open-source software, SaaS, or managed services environments.
  • Preferred cloud engineering or public cloud experience.
  • Preferred Kubernetes and Java skills.
  • Preferred history of public speaking and writing blogs or articles.
