Description

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of automated valuation model (AVM) systems for lending products.
  • Architect machine learning, deep learning, and statistical models for asset valuation using market, macroeconomic, spatial-temporal, liquidity, and property-risk signals.
  • Establish frameworks for model performance assessment, monitoring, and automated retraining across real estate cycles.
  • Build analytical tools and frameworks for risk, underwriting, and capital markets teams.
  • Partner with data infrastructure and MLOps teams to improve data capabilities, feature stores, and real-time inference infrastructure.
  • Design features from structured, unstructured, and multimodal data, including property photos, listing descriptions, and spatial data.
  • Conduct exploratory analysis, evaluate emerging AI capabilities, and recommend improvements to valuation and decisioning frameworks.
  • Refactor and optimize analytical solutions to improve scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Set technical direction, mentor team members, and collaborate with product, engineering, credit risk, and capital markets leaders.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or Machine Learning.
  • 5+ years of industry experience building and deploying production machine-learning models, or 3+ years with a Ph.D.
  • Track record of developing statistical and machine-learning models at the account, customer, or real estate asset level.
  • Hands-on expertise in advanced machine learning, deep learning, spatial analytics, and AI systems.
  • Production-level programming skills in Python, SQL, and R.
  • Experience providing technical leadership, collaborating cross-functionally, and mentoring junior team members.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and mathematical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executives.
  • Experience developing or deploying AVMs or automated appraisal systems (preferred).
  • Experience with survival analysis, financial econometrics, spatial-temporal forecasting, computer vision, NLP, Spark, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Monte Carlo simulation, Bayesian inference, causal ML, MLOps, AWS/GCP, feature stores, or model serving infrastructure (preferred).
  • Progress toward or completion of FRM, CFA, or similar quantitative/financial certifications (preferred).

Benefits

  • Remote full-time role.
  • Expected annual base salary of $175,000–$225,000, adjusted by location, qualifications, experience, and market conditions.
  • Bonus and benefits in addition to base salary.
