Description

  • Build and own initial recommendation features for relevant connections, counterparties, and opportunities.
  • Apply collaborative filtering, clustering, nearest-neighbor methods, and standard machine-learning models to social and transaction data.
  • Progress from simple approaches to embeddings, similarity search, and ranking models where valuable.
  • Develop approaches for sparse data and cold-start users and entities.
  • Ensure recommendations are subtle, relevant, trustworthy, and aligned with product UX.
  • Own offline evaluation metrics and online experiments measuring engagement and adoption.
  • Partner with backend engineers on recommendation serving and establish practical ML practices.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience building production recommendation or personalization systems.
  • Strong knowledge of collaborative filtering, clustering, nearest neighbors, and standard ML models.
  • Experience with embeddings, similarity or vector search, ranking, feature engineering, and rigorous evaluation.
  • Strong Python skills, including pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Ability to design and interpret A/B tests and distinguish offline from online lift.
  • Product judgment and a pragmatic approach to shipping, iterating, and creating useful recommendations.
  • Capital markets, private credit, or fintech experience (preferred).
  • Experience with graph or network methods, such as graph embeddings, GNNs, or link prediction (preferred).
  • Experience as an early or founding data scientist (preferred).
