Description

  • Grow sales revenue and test volume by winning new hospital business and expanding utilization in existing accounts.
  • Build, manage, and nurture regional hospital and health system accounts across the assigned territory.
  • Prioritize and segment accounts to identify the highest-growth opportunities.
  • Present product features and benefits to clinical and executive stakeholders using a consultative sales approach.
  • Lead early evaluations, support adoption, and drive increased utilization over time.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the science, technology, and value of the Karius test.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships and demonstrate ROI to partner accounts.
  • Secure and renew contracts and agreements when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales, Customer Success, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Product, and Sales leadership to support territory goals and gather market feedback.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, trade shows, and local market activities.
  • Complete Salesforce documentation, expense reports, and other administrative duties accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of sales or business development experience in life sciences, biotech, medical devices, diagnostic equipment, and/or pharmaceuticals.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Proven success introducing transformational or novel products or services to physicians and hospitals.
  • Strong existing network in hospitals and health systems, including microbiology labs, send-out labs, physician groups, C-level executives, and administrators.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with executives, physicians, and lab directors.
  • Track record of exceeding sales objectives and managing multi-level accounts.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and territory planning capability.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to lead discussions with small and large groups.
  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, growth-oriented environment.
  • Preferred: deep knowledge and experience in greater metropolitan area health systems.
  • Preferred: prior experience with transforming clinical practice before peer-reviewed publications or guideline support.
