Description

  • Own topline forecasting for Instacart’s Core grocery business using driver-based financial models tied to business performance and operational levers.
  • Lead deep dives on revenue and unit economics such as LTV, CAC, conversion, AOV, and contribution margin to identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Business Development, and Data Science to align assumptions, improve data quality, and operationalize insights.
  • Develop executive-ready materials, including narrative memos, dashboards, and scenario and sensitivity analyses, for senior leadership.
  • Own initiative reporting across marketing, product, and enterprise programs and standardize measurement and impact tracking.
  • Support weekly growth reviews, monthly business reviews, ad hoc deep dives, investor relations, Board materials, and company-wide planning.
  • Collaborate with other Strategic Finance teams to assess the impact of retailer, supply, and marketing initiatives on Core business performance.
  • Continuously refine and automate models and reporting to improve speed, accuracy, scalability, and decision-making.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in strategic finance/FP&A, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including driver-based financial models, revenue forecasts, and scenario and sensitivity analyses.
  • Experience preparing and presenting executive-ready materials to VP/C-suite stakeholders.
  • Track record of owning end-to-end forecasting and performance reporting for a product line, business segment, or revenue stream.
  • Experience in a two-sided marketplace or consumer internet business such as on-demand, e-commerce, advertising, or subscription models (preferred).
  • Proficiency with SQL for self-serve analysis and familiarity with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau (preferred).
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally to define metrics, align on assumptions, evaluate experiments, and operationalize insights (preferred).
  • Background creating materials for Board meetings, investor relations, and quarterly or monthly business reviews in a high-growth environment (preferred).
  • MBA, CFA, or other relevant advanced credential (preferred).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones; West Coast hours alignment is a plus.

Benefits

  • Flexible remote work through Instacart’s Flex First policy, with the option to work from home, an office, or another location.
  • Base salary range of $127,000 to $160,500 USD depending on permanent work location.
  • Eligible for a new hire equity grant.
  • Eligible for annual equity refresh grants.
