Description

  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance Android mobile applications that meet healthcare security and accessibility standards.
  • Own mobile features from concept through release, including design, development, testing, optimization, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and QA teams to deliver functional, accessible, and polished applications.
  • Enforce code quality through code reviews, performance optimization, and resolution of bottlenecks, memory issues, and concurrency issues.
  • Implement automated testing, debug complex issues across devices and OS versions, and improve application reliability.
  • Own mobile deployment pipelines and automate testing and distribution using Fastlane and CI/CD workflows.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve development velocity, code quality, and documentation.
  • Build and maintain secure solutions for sensitive patient data and support audits and compliance needs.
  • Mentor engineers, champion mobile best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Estimate effort, manage timelines, and help ensure high-quality releases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional native mobile development experience in Kotlin.
  • Strong expertise in modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
  • Proven experience building responsive mobile applications across multiple screen sizes, orientations, and device form factors.
  • Strong experience integrating RESTful APIs, JSON, and complex backend services using AWS, Firebase, or Azure.
  • Strong understanding of concurrency models, background execution, and push notification ecosystems.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile security best practices, including encryption at rest and in transit, secure key management, certificate pinning, and secure storage.
  • Experience with automated testing and mobile debugging tools across devices and OS versions.
  • Experience with performance optimization, memory management, battery efficiency, and network efficiency on mobile devices.
  • Advanced Git proficiency, experience with CI/CD and Fastlane, and familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Agile methodologies, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor.
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose, Room, SQLite, Android Keystore, Coroutines, Flow, WorkManager, Android services, JUnit, Espresso, Android Studio Profiler, app signing, Play Store deployment, and FCM.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements such as HIPAA and GDPR, plus awareness of AI/ML use cases.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Willingness to explore and adopt AI tools responsibly to enhance productivity and innovation.
  • Travel up to 10% is required, including overnight travel.
  • Must be located in the US and able to work remotely in the EST or CST time zones.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $122,000 to $145,000 per year, excluding variable compensation.
