Description

  • Prospect, qualify, and prioritize opportunities within a defined territory or segment.
  • Manage a book of business from initial outreach through deal close and handoff to Implementation and Account Management teams.
  • Lead RFP and RFI responses, coordinating internal contributors and presenting recommendations to client decision makers.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing government clients.
  • Own a measurable revenue goal and help drive territory growth and revenue expansion.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to move opportunities forward and support the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecast revenue, and keep data hygiene up to date.
  • Communicate tailored value propositions to technical, financial, and executive audiences.
  • Work independently with strong initiative, self-management, and pipeline ownership.
  • Support in-person client meetings, prospect meetings, conferences, and internal events as needed.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of full-cycle sales experience in B2G or B2B SaaS/technology sales.
  • Proven success selling into government or similarly complex, RFP-driven environments with multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding quota.
  • Ability to prospect, qualify, and prioritize opportunities in a defined territory.
  • Experience managing a book of business through closing and coordinating handoffs to downstream teams.
  • Experience leading RFP/RFI responses and working with internal contributors.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience using a CRM, preferably Salesforce, to manage opportunities and forecast revenue.
  • Ability to quickly learn and explain complex software solutions.
  • Preferably based in the Midwest or Southwest U.S.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50–75% of the time.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $80,000–$100,000 per year.
  • On-target earnings of approximately $175,000–$225,000 per year after a 6-month ramp-up period.
  • Baseline commission included during the 6-month ramp-up period.
