Description

  • Implement features, fix bugs, and resolve production incidents across iOS and Android, extending to backend and web frontend components as needed.
  • Own mobile initiatives end to end, from requirements analysis and task breakdown through implementation and production release.
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex mobile issues and diagnose root causes across app, native, networking, and platform layers.
  • Review code and designs for correctness and alignment with mobile patterns before release.
  • Contribute to mobile engineering standards, including component architecture, native integration, testing, and release policy.
  • Monitor release health, staged rollouts, and post-release issues on both iOS and Android.
  • Design, build, and maintain reliable, performant, and secure mobile applications.
  • Support end-to-end delivery across the full development lifecycle, including testing, store release, and production support.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years with React Native.
  • Proficiency in React Native and TypeScript.
  • Strong JavaScript fundamentals, including asynchronous programming, event loop behavior, and error handling.
  • Working knowledge of relational and document databases, including data modeling, querying, and indexing.
  • Understanding of RESTful API design and HTTP fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with native iOS and Android tooling, including Xcode, Android Studio, and Gradle.
  • Understanding of mobile OS fundamentals, including app lifecycle, background execution, permissions, and memory constraints.
  • Experience with automated testing practices, including unit, integration, and E2E testing.
  • Understanding of mobile security, including secure storage and handling of sensitive and payment data.
  • Confident day-to-day use of AI-assisted development tools for research, troubleshooting, and implementation.
  • Ability to independently diagnose common React Native production issues.
  • Track record of owning mobile initiatives end to end, including release and related backend/web changes.
  • Experience designing mobile application architecture with trade-offs across performance, reliability, and observability.
  • Experience designing or integrating native modules and SDKs, including Swift/Kotlin changes when needed.
  • Experience owning the mobile release process, including app signing, store submission, and staged rollouts.
  • Experience establishing mobile engineering practices such as standards, CI/CD, and release processes.
  • Experience designing resilient asynchronous and event-driven backend interactions.
  • Experience with mobile production operations, including monitoring, crash reporting, incident response, and rollback policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
  • English proficiency sufficient for daily written and verbal communication.
  • Fluent in Russian and English at B2 level.
  • Experience with broader backend and database work is a plus.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging patterns is a plus.
  • Experience operating high-traffic, low-latency systems is a plus.
  • Experience with offline-first architectures and data synchronization over unreliable networks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with React Native New Architecture concepts such as JSI, Fabric, TurboModules, and Codegen is a plus.
  • Native development depth in Swift and/or Kotlin beyond React Native is a plus.
  • Experience with in-person or mobile payments and fintech products is a plus.
  • Experience with Stripe Terminal, Tap to Pay, or NFC is a plus.
  • Experience in a distributed, remote-first engineering organization is a plus.
