Description

  • Drive the design and implementation of new features and maintain high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Break down complex problems into elegant technical designs.
  • Create and maintain test automation to support continuous integration and development velocity.
  • Design and deliver microservices integrations through REST/gRPC APIs and messaging patterns such as events and queues.
  • Collaborate with and mentor other engineers through code, design, and architecture reviews.
  • Work cross-functionally with data science, design, product, marketing, and analytics teams.
  • Debug production issues across services infrastructure and multiple layers of the stack.
  • Work with distributed systems and services in a backend platform environment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering development experience.
  • Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one JVM language such as Java, Kotlin, or Scala.
  • Experience with a major framework such as Spring or Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle; NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS, and AWS Kinesis.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools.
  • Experience developing and executing functional and integration tests.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and microservice architecture is a strong plus.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or LLMs.
  • Able to work remotely or hybrid from Mexico City; no visa sponsorship or immigration support provided.
