Description

  • Configure systems and networks across the platform infrastructure.
  • Deploy applications on bare metal and containerized environments.
  • Maintain and support large storage clusters.
  • Instrument performance measurement and alerting systems.
  • Improve automation and internal tooling for infrastructure operations.
  • Participate in on-call support for systems issues.
  • Coordinate bulk data delivery to customers and vendor partners.
  • Handle occasional physical infrastructure deliveries and systems provisioning.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Linux.
  • Experience with systems configuration and provisioning, with PXE, Puppet, Ansible, or Terraform preferred.
  • Understanding of storage concepts including RAID, LVM, common filesystems, and distributed storage.
  • Basic networking knowledge, including the OSI model, IP protocols, switching, and routing.
  • Ability to code in Python and write shell scripts.
  • DevOps or GitOps mindset.
  • Prior internship experience or 2+ years of full-time systems engineering or infrastructure experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; H-1B sponsorship is not available.
  • Experience with distributed storage systems such as Ceph is a plus.
  • Customer support experience and strong problem-solving skills are a plus.
  • Experience at a trading or fintech firm, or interest in learning fintech, is a plus.
  • Database administration experience with MySQL, ClickHouse, or Redis is a plus.
  • Cloud engineering basics with AWS or GCP compute and storage are a plus.
  • Experience with Proxmox, Docker, Kubernetes, or HTCondor is a plus.
  • Systems and network tuning experience is a plus.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, or Loki is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to data centers in New Jersey or Boston on short notice, within one week, is a plus.
