Description

  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex, high-impact, and persistent technical incidents.
  • Lead advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across Microsoft 365, security, identity, endpoints, cloud, and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Design, build, configure, and deploy infrastructure and security solutions.
  • Support server, virtualization, networking, firewall, SD-WAN, remote-site, and security uplift initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and technical leadership on project deployments.
  • Provide technical guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 engineers.
  • Review technical changes for security, operational risk, and compliance considerations.
  • Apply cybersecurity frameworks such as the Australian Essential Eight to configurations and remediation activities.
  • Create and maintain solution designs, handover materials, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate ticket, project, and service records in PSA and RMM platforms.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated Level 3 or senior systems engineering experience in an MSP or complex, multi-site IT environment.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience with Microsoft 365, Windows, cloud, and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies, security, identity, endpoint, and access management.
  • Experience with servers, virtualization, networking, firewalls, and infrastructure deployments.
  • Proven ability to own complex incidents, identify root causes, and determine resolutions or escalation paths.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure and technology projects from configuration through deployment.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and compliance-focused environments.
  • Familiarity with the Australian Essential Eight is strongly preferred; ISO-aligned, DISP, or SOCI experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, VMware, Hyper-V, Datto, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, and related platforms is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, documentation, knowledge-sharing, autonomous working, and collaboration skills.
