Description

  • Own the full sales cycle for CMC’s API products from prospecting and demos through closing and expansion.
  • Identify and engage new API customers across exchanges, DeFi protocols, fintech platforms, data aggregators, and institutional or TradFi firms.
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of API opportunities and forecast revenue.
  • Assess client data needs and recommend the right API tier, endpoints, and integration approach.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for API clients with internal teams for onboarding and issue resolution.
  • Expand revenue from existing API clients through upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Track competitor API offerings, pricing, and market trends to inform positioning.
  • Collaborate with Product to relay client feedback and influence the API roadmap.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, ideally in API, data, or SaaS products.
  • Strong network within the crypto industry, including exchanges, DeFi, fintech, or institutional crypto.
  • Solid understanding of APIs, data products, and how technical buyers evaluate them.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Fluency in English at a native level; additional languages are a bonus.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
  • BS/BA in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience selling crypto market data or financial data APIs specifically is preferred.
  • Familiarity with REST/WebSocket APIs and developer documentation is preferred.
  • Existing relationships with exchanges, trading desks, or institutional crypto firms are preferred.
  • Experience with CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce is preferred.
