Description

  • Lead the technical strategy and architecture for a scalable AI-ready data platform.
  • Define and evolve reference architectures, modeling standards, guardrails, and best practices.
  • Oversee cross-product data architecture improvements, including schema modernization and data model evolution.
  • Mentor and guide development teams while promoting high standards in data engineering and platform architecture.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to improve data contracts, ingestion, normalization, consistency, and reuse.
  • Partner with Security and product teams on data classification, retention, tenant isolation, and access controls.
  • Provide reference implementations and blueprints that help teams adopt the platform and produce data products.
  • Define and implement standards for data quality, lineage, traceability, freshness monitoring, and alerting.
  • Contribute to AI-ready data platform initiatives and architecture decisions across teams.
  • Work with DevOps on CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and operational tooling for reliable platform delivery.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development and data engineering.
  • At least 5 years in a senior technical leadership role, preferably as a Principal Developer or Data Architect.
  • Deep experience designing modern cloud-native data platforms, preferably on AWS.
  • Experience with lakehouse and warehouse patterns, medallion architecture, and ingestion from OLTP systems.
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and distributed processing solutions with Spark, Trino, and MapReduce.
  • Demonstrated experience enabling data for AI workflows in production, including embeddings, vector retrieval, and RAG workflows.
  • Experience with real-time or event-driven data flows that support agentic systems and AI integrations.
  • Familiarity with AI platform integration and orchestration patterns, including LLM/agent observability and evaluation.
  • Preferred familiarity with LangGraph, Langfuse, MCP, AWS Bedrock, AWS AgentCore, and LaunchDarkly.
  • Experience with secure interoperability patterns for customer AI systems, including governed access and tenant-aware controls.
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Amazon DocumentDB, MS SQL Server, DynamoDB, AWS ElastiCache for Redis, and Valkey.
  • Experience with SNS/SQS; Kafka or Pub/Sub is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, S3 Express, Athena, Glue Catalog, Lake Formation, OpenSearch Serverless, S3 Vector Storage, Iceberg, Lambda, Step Functions, EKS, EMR, and EMR Serverless.
  • Proven ability to architect scalable, reliable data systems and resolve performance and scale bottlenecks.
  • Experience with replication, event sourcing, CDC/change tracking, reprocessing patterns, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Experience defining data governance, privacy, auditability, and operational guardrails for AI-ready datasets and data products.
  • Strong technical leadership, including mentoring teams and influencing architecture across multiple teams.
  • Experience working with DevOps teams, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Strong English communication and collaboration skills.
