Description

  • Design and manage data domains that enable interoperable and trustworthy data products.
  • Build and optimize Oura’s data lakehouse across Databricks, Google BigQuery, and Snowflake for terabyte- to petabyte-scale data.
  • Implement federated data governance to meet privacy, compliance, and security requirements, including HIPAA and PHI.
  • Partner with Data Engineering, Data Science, and business domain owners to align on unified analytics and modeling practices.
  • Design vector-based data architectures and RAG patterns to support LLM reporting and Agentic AI use cases.
  • Establish scalable data management frameworks and a governed data dictionary to enable self-service across the organization.
  • Lead the data lifecycle from data definition through delivery and consumption.
  • Integrate diverse transactional, product, and compliance data sources into a centralized data function.
  • Design orchestration, automation, and scheduling approaches for complex data workflows.
  • Design for observability, high availability, and performance optimization across data pipelines and tasks.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture or data modeling.
  • Strong technical foundation in cloud-based platforms such as AWS, GCP, Databricks, or Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud services such as AWS S3, Kinesis, Glue, and Athena, or GCP BigQuery and Vertex AI.
  • Experience designing and managing cloud-native data warehouses such as Snowflake or Google BigQuery.
  • Experience with Data Mesh principles, including federated governance and decentralized data ownership.
  • Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data Management (RDM).
  • Proficiency with Iceberg and dbt, including dbt Cloud on Databricks for SQL-based modeling.
  • Experience with AI/ML, predictive modeling, Vertex AI, and MLOps frameworks.
  • Experience designing LLM architectures using Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector-based data designs.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, Spark, SQL, Kafka, and Kinesis for data processing and stream processing.
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, dbt, and Databricks Lakeflow.
  • Knowledge of global data residency, privacy standards, and HIPAA/PHI compliance requirements.
  • Preferred: experience in healthcare, wellness, consumer electronics, wearables, digital health, or subscription services.
  • Preferred: advanced degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred: experience with tools such as MLFlow, Microstrategy, Tableau, Power BI, and Thoughtspot.
