Description

  • Lead an Agile scrum team through design, development, testing, planning, and delivery activities.
  • Design, develop, and unit test Python/Django backend services and REST APIs.
  • Build ETL, metadata transformation, validation, reconciliation, and digital content transfer workflows.
  • Design content selection, workflow administration, permissions, approvals, exception handling, and audit capabilities.
  • Develop PostgreSQL data models, schemas, queries, and indexes for content and workflow systems.
  • Implement asynchronous processing, queueing, orchestration, checkpointing, throttling, and retry behavior.
  • Maintain existing Java components and integrate malware scanning, integrity validation, routing, and quarantine services.
  • Develop search and indexing capabilities using Solr and Elasticsearch.
  • Deploy and operate services in AWS using Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, and Git.
  • Mentor a mid-level developer, conduct code reviews, support testing and accessibility compliance, and contribute to technical and security documentation.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership or senior development on an Agile team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Python, Django, backend services, REST APIs, and microservice design.
  • Strong PostgreSQL experience, including data modeling, schema design, query optimization, and migrations.
  • Working proficiency in Java for maintaining and extending existing components.
  • Experience with ETL or data integration pipelines, authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, and recovery.
  • Experience with Solr, Elasticsearch, AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, and JIRA-based Scrum development.
  • Working knowledge of content-addressable storage, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Ability to lead technical designs, review code, mentor developers, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • U.S. work authorization, Public Trust eligibility, and ability to handle CUI; sponsorship is unavailable. Preferred experience includes federal programs, digital asset management, Celery, Docker, Red Hat Linux, accessibility testing, NIST controls, ATO activities, and metadata standards.
