Description

  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop Python and TypeScript backend services, tooling, and API integrations.
  • Integrate and optimize LLM inference pipelines through prompt engineering, model serving, and output evaluation.
  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes workloads, including manifests, autoscaling, and troubleshooting.
  • Improve data quality, pipeline reliability, and system observability with cross-functional teams.
  • Prototype, implement, and ship privacy-enhancing browser features in C++ or Rust.
  • Develop browser-native permissions and anti-fingerprinting protections.
  • Contribute to Brave’s Chromium-based codebase using knowledge of web security and browser architecture.
  • Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to develop and validate browser features.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed open-source team using Git and GitHub.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Waterloo.
  • Available for a remote fall-semester internship with a flexible schedule around studies.
  • Programming experience with Python and TypeScript for data or backend development (Role One).
  • Experience or interest in LLM inference, prompt engineering, model serving, and evaluation (Role One).
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containerized workloads, autoscaling, and cluster troubleshooting (Role One).
  • Programming experience with C++ or Rust (Role Two).
  • Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (Role Two).
  • Understanding of web security concepts and Chromium architecture (Role Two).
  • Experience with Git and GitHub and collaborative software development.
