Description

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex, scalable, reliable, and high-performance software systems.
  • Design, code, deploy, and operate technical architectures and systems.
  • Develop maintainable, reusable code across front-end, back-end, and database layers.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technical leaders, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and technical specifications.
  • Ship interoperable products and systems that manage customer interactions inside and outside the vehicle.
  • Apply software development standards, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Own the successful delivery of complex, large-scale technical initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach engineers while providing technical leadership.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and improve software development processes.
  • Attend periodic in-person meetings and travel domestically for company events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of software development experience, focused on back-end technologies.
  • Proficiency with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Proficiency with back-end technologies such as Go, Node.js, Python, Java, Ruby, or Swift.
  • Knowledge of relational or non-relational databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel domestically; mobile development, automotive/manufacturing, RESTful or RPC APIs, microservices, IAM/SSO, AWS, and consumer application experience are preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $140,000–$170,000; California, Washington, and New York range of $154,000–$187,000.
  • Eligibility for an annual performance bonus program.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and income protection insurance plans.
  • 401(k) with employer match and immediate vesting.
  • 20 planned PTO days, 40 hours of unplanned PTO, and 14 company or floating holidays annually.
  • Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Paid leave for bereavement, jury duty, voting time, and military leave.
  • Remote role based in Fremont, California, with occasional office attendance and in-person events.
