Description

  • Lead the design, implementation, and quality of complex, enterprise-grade FinOps solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point and principal engineer for complex client and financial analysis scenarios.
  • Define methodologies for cloud cost analysis, optimization, allocation, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and savings realization.
  • Own FinOps data models, dashboards, governance standards, reusable assets, roadmaps, and delivery quality frameworks.
  • Develop and drive the practice’s AI and automation roadmap, including anomaly detection, rightsizing, commitment optimization, forecasting, and workflow automation.
  • Advise senior client stakeholders on FinOps operating models, governance, maturity, unit economics, and strategic cloud cost management.
  • Lead commitment and rate strategies, including reserved capacity, savings plans, enterprise agreements, and utilization tracking.
  • Build client relationships, support service reviews and pre-sales activities, and identify growth opportunities for FinOps and adjacent services.
  • Coordinate distributed technical resources, mentor engineers, review deliverables, and improve practice maturity without direct personnel-management responsibility.
  • Provide escalation, on-call, incident, reporting, and approved after-hours support as required by client commitments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of information technology experience, including 5+ years focused on FinOps, cloud cost management, cloud governance, or related cloud engineering.
  • 5+ years in customer-facing, consulting, stakeholder-facing, or service delivery roles presenting to technical, financial, and executive audiences.
  • 2+ years administering FinOps or cloud management platforms such as Harness CCM, Cloudability, CloudHealth, CloudZero, or similar tools.
  • Expertise in at least one major public cloud provider—AWS, Azure, or GCP—with working depth in a second; strong AWS or Azure experience preferred.
  • Experience designing or operating large-scale, multi-account, multi-subscription, or enterprise cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Relevant FinOps and cloud certifications, such as FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud certifications.
  • Strong understanding of cloud billing, allocation, optimization, forecasting, unit economics, governance, and financial modeling.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete AHEAD and client-required background screening.
  • Preferred experience includes managed services or consulting, FinOps practice development, Snowflake/BigQuery/Databricks, machine learning, Kubernetes cost allocation, policy-as-code, Power BI/Tableau, and ServiceNow/Jira.
  • Remote U.S. work with up to 15% domestic travel and occasional after-hours or weekend support.
