Description

  • Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate visual language models to improve multimodal document understanding.
  • Design and implement data preparation, cleaning, and augmentation pipelines for multimodal model training.
  • Use transfer learning and pre-trained models to accelerate development and optimize performance on Xometry data.
  • Scale training and fine-tuning workflows using cloud resources such as Amazon Web Services.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and MLOps teams to deploy models into production and monitor performance.
  • Analyze model outputs and improve accuracy using Python, Jupyter Notebooks, SQL, and related data tools.
  • Experiment with state-of-the-art model architectures and continuously optimize VLM performance.
  • Participate in peer reviews, share insights, and contribute to a collaborative learning environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; an M.S. or PhD in computer science, data science, machine learning, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science and machine learning, with expertise in visual language models or multimodal machine learning.
  • Strong experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
  • Proficiency in Python, including pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn.
  • Solid understanding of deep learning, transfer learning, fine-tuning, and model evaluation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS SageMaker for model training and deployment.
  • Familiarity with data processing and visualization tools such as SQL, Jupyter Notebooks, and Looker, plus basic database knowledge such as Snowflake or MongoDB.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented, innovative environment.
  • Familiarity with computer vision tasks and multimodal data is a plus.
